The largest obstacle for a student’s success in sixth grade math is the lack of basic skills. Students that struggle with their multiplication facts tend to struggle with the new material. A student is unable to focus on learning new concepts because he or she is focusing on whether or not basic math calculations are correct. This summer the 6th grade teachers want you to practice and improve your basic math skills. You can accomplish this through practicing your multiplication facts along with practicing addition and subtraction of fractions and decimals.
